The beginning of 2020 has brought some crazy weather to the UAE with heavy rains, cold winds and not to mention snow in this part of the world! But hey, who’s complaining? We’re loving it!
It’s also the season of dilemmas - as we all struggle to keep up with diet and fitness resolutions and entertaining visiting family of friends! Go easy on yourself. Stay active and be mindful and you will strike that balance with ease!
Below, we have a few tips on how you can embrace the weather and stay active:
Join your local run club or training group to push you to reach your goals. Group training is always a great motivator and a fun way to make new friends along the way.

Beach / Park Walks
If running isn’t your thing, find relaxation in the calming sounds of nature. Explore the walking path along the beach or the nearest park. Take in the sounds of the waves, the birds and the rustling of leaves in the wind. Embrace your “me-time”, visualize achievement and success, and own your day!
Camping (or Glamping if you must!)
It’s time to get away from the “concrete jungle” and appreciate the beauty of the beginnings of the UAE. Several places offer desert safaris and glamping options - which surely brings a sigh of relief to all camping newbies! Enjoy the winter sun and fill your lungs with fresh air to get that blood circulation going!

Muscle stiffness is a common symptom during winters as muscles tend to lose heat faster and contract causing tightness all over the body. While curling up with a warm cuppa feels like a good idea...stretching those muscles out will make you feel infinitely better. And what better way to get that blood pumping than an intense session of Yoga! In addition to keeping you warm, yoga is a great way to calm the mind and soothe the soul.
If yoga isn't really your thing, there’s another fun activity that may suit your tempo. Joining a Zumba class is a great way to burn those calories, lift your mood, socialise and have a whole lot of fun at the same time. So shed those winter blues and check out a class near you!
So, what is your favourite winter activity?
